This week on the Travel Show we visit Rochester, New York - just ninety minutes across the border from Toronto, or a half-day’s drive from Montreal. This city offers the visitor everything from the ultimate bustling city break to a relaxing rural escape. In our radio journey today we will be lingering over the history, culture and festivals of the city, as well as exploring the quaint canal-side towns in the region. Rochester is the third largest city in New York State, and - as Rochesterville back in the early 1800’s - it was the first boom town in the United Sates. Today it’s a great choice for affordable family fun, bargain shopping and rich cultural offerings.
