Chris was born to travel. From his first three month long around-the-world-trip when he was six years old, he has always been fascinated by the combination of people and place. He spent six months as a teenager traveling across Europe and Asia to the Himalayas in an old Bedford truck, prior to studying Geography at Cambridge University in the UK for his MA degree.

For 25 years he led marketing teams in several of the world’s leading tour operators in Europe and North America, producing those colourful vacation brochures that we love to dream over. He co-authored a popular textbook “Marketing for Tourism” and is a Fellow of the Institute of Travel and Tourism and The Royal Geographical Society.

A few years ago Chris created his own company offering consultancy services to travel organizations and producing and hosting the well known Chris Robinson Travel Shows – Canada’s most listened to travel shows on radio. Of course, he has continued to travel and has now visited nearly 150 countries around the world. Chris lives in Toronto, Ontario with his wife Dara and two sons Pip and Tim – each of whom shares his love of travel.

Chris sees his radio shows as supporting his greatest passion: encouraging as many people as possible to experience as much of the world as possible. Apart from the fun of travel itself, he believes that travel truly broadens the mind and encourages tolerance of other world views. So get out there and explore!
