THE CHRIS ROBINSON TRAVEL SHOW CONTEST on CFRB 1010 OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

  1. The Chris Robinson Travel Show Contest (the “Contest”) is conducted by Astral Media and Chris Robinson Associates.  Any questions regarding the Contest and its rules should be directed to Astral Media at 2 St. Clair Avenue West, 2nd Floor, Toronto, Ontario, M4V 1L6.
  2. Any Ontario resident who is 18 years of age or older living or working in the Newstalk 1010 CFRB listening area is eligible to enter, except for employees or agents of, family and household members of same, of Astral Media or Chris Robinson Associates, or their advertising and promotional agencies involved in the Contest or their affiliates, subsidiaries, successors or assigns.
  3. No purchase is necessary to enter. 
  4. The contest begins on the Monday prior to the Saturday show broadcast. The last day to enter the contest by email or online is the Friday prior to the Saturday show, before 10:00 pm. The last day to enter the contest by phone is the Saturday of the show by 10:55 am.  Listeners may enter by email, online or by phone.
  5. Email entries:
    Listeners may email travelshow@cfrb.com. Their email must include a question on the destination featured in that week’s show. The destination is featured on the CFRB and Chris Robinson Travel Show website and is promoted periodically on air during the contest period. If their question is read live on-air during the show, the listener is entered into the contest.
  6. Online entries:
    Listeners may enter the contest on line at www.chrisrobinsontravelshow.ca. Their entry must include a question on the destination featured in this week’s show. The destination is featured on the CFRB and Chris Robinson Travel Show websites and is promoted periodically on air during the contest period. If their question is read live on-air during the show, the listener is entered into the contest.
  7. Phone entries:
    Listeners may phone in to the CFRB studio line (416-872-1010 or 1-800-561-2372 or Cellular: *8255) during the CFRB Travel Show which airs 10:00am – 11:00am EST on Saturdays. If their call is selected they must ask a question live on air on the destination featured in this week’s show. The destination is featured on the CFRB and Chris Robinson Travel Show websites and is promoted periodically on air during the contest period. If their question is broadcast live on-air during the show, the listener is entered into the contest.
  8. At the end of the show one of the contest entries is selected by random draw. This listener is called back at approximately 10:55am to 11:00am. The listener must answer the phone with the specific winning phrase for that week. This winning phrase is given out during the Saturday Travel Show between 10.00am – 11:00am. If in the opinion of the Travel Show hosts, and at their sole discretion, the contestant has answered with a close approximation to the winning phrase, they are awarded the prize.
  9. If the listener does not answer the phone with the winning phrase then they are deemed not to have won and an alternative contest entry will be selected immediately. The prize will be awarded when a listener selected as a contest entry answers a call with the correct winning phrase.
  10. There will be one (1) grand prize winner only.
  11. Contestants who submit a question online are automatically entered to win further prizes. Multiple entries are permitted. Prizes and draw dates will be published on www.ChrisRobinsonTravelShow.ca.
         - Potential winners will be selected by random draw, which will take place at 36 Binscarth Rd, Toronto, ON M4W 1Y1.
         - Potential winners will be notified via email and telephone, from all valid email addresses and telephone numbers entered online.
         - The selected entrants will be contacted by email and telephone. At least three (3) attempts to contact each of the selected entrants by email and phone will be made within the fourteen (14) days following the prize draw. If a selected entrant cannot be contacted in that time, another selected entrant will be chosen and the initial selected entrant will have no further recourse towards Astral Media, Chris Robinson Associates Inc or anyone involved in the contest.
         - In order to win, all selected entrants must first correctly answer a time limited, arithmetical, skill-testing question to be administered by telephone (or email).
  12. Contest winners will be required to sign a Waiver/Release of liability in advance of receiving the prize in favour of Astral Media and the other sponsors such that none of them shall be liable for the use or misuse of any of the prizes. 
  13. By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decision of the Astral judges. Non-compliance will result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be selected.
  14. By accepting the Contest prize, the Contest winner agrees to hold Astral Media, Chris Robinson Associates, and their affiliates, subsidiaries, officers, directors and assigns harmless against any and all claims and liability arising out of the use of the prize. The winner assumes all liability for any injury or damage caused or claimed to be caused by participation in this Contest or the use and/or redemption of the prize.
  15. Acceptance of the prize constitutes permission to use the winner's name and photograph for purposes of promotion, advertising, and trade without further compensation.
  16. The grand prize must be taken as awarded as specified in the Prizewinner letter that will be presented to the winner. Prizewinner accepts responsibility for all additional costs identified in the Prizewinner letter including, but not limited, to transportation, security and departure taxes, fuel, currency and energy surcharge and related fees. Prizes must be accepted as awarded and no substitutions, transfers or other compensation will be allowed. However, Astral Media reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
  17. Astral Media reserves the right to withdraw or terminate the Contest at any time, without prior notice, or to change the Contest rules.
  18. Any caller will be disqualified if their line disconnects for any reason before Astral Media  has been provided with all required identification and factual information.  If there are multiple callers on one line, all callers are disqualified.  Astral Media assumes no liability for any such disqualified caller.
  19. A contestant and the members of their household may only win one Travel Show Contest prize per year.  Any contestant who attempts to be a repeat winner will be disqualified from winning on a repeat basis.
  20. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws.  The odds of winning the “Contest” prize will depend upon the number of eligible callers/email entries for any particular Contest.  Entrants agree to abide by the Contest rules and the decisions of Astral Media, which are final.  To receive a list of winners, you may send a postage-paid, self-addressed envelope to Astral Media.  Void where restricted or prohibited by law. Newstalk 1010 CFRB and Astral Media reserve the right to change the rules at any given time.  The decision of the Astral judges at any time is final. Astral Media is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing or broadcast of the Contest, administration of the Contest, or announcement of the prizes.
